Turbocharge ChatGPT Access with a Native IP VPN Solution

Accessing ChatGPT has become increasingly difficult these days. Previously, I used a VPS server from Vultr to set up a proxy, but one day, I suddenly encountered an “Access Denied Error Code 1020.” This indicated that my IP was no longer viable. I searched and tested numerous IP addresses from various VPS hosts, including AWS, Vultr, and Microsoft Azure. However, after setting up the servers, I faced the same “access denied” issue when attempting to access ChatGPT.

For those interested, you can test the purity of your IP address using the following link: https://scamalytics.com/ip. If the test shows a high-risk IP, you will likely experience various issues when accessing ChatGPT.

After relentless searching, I finally discovered a VPS hosting service that provides native IP addresses, meaning the IPs originate directly from their data center. If you’re interested, you can try their service through this link, and they promise a 48-hour unconditional refund: https://lisahost.com/aff.php?aff=752.

I purchased an Ubuntu-based server from this provider, which was ready for use within minutes. I connected to the server via SSH and installed OpenVPN.

Here’s a simple method to install OpenVPN using a script:

Download the script and make it executable:

$ curl -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/angristan/openvpn-install/master/openvpn-install.sh $ chmod +x openvpn-install.sh

Run the script:

$ ./openvpn-install.sh

You need to run the script as root and have the TUN module enabled. The first time you run it, you’ll have to follow the assistant and answer a few questions to set up your VPN server.

When OpenVPN is installed, you can run the script again and choose to add a new user, revoke an existing user, remove OpenVPN, or exit:

  1. Add a new user
  2. Revoke existing user
  3. Remove OpenVPN
  4. Exit Select an option [1-4]:

After installing OpenVPN, Windows users should download an OpenVPN GUI client and import the .ovpn file generated on the server. If everything works correctly, you should now be able to connect to the internet via VPN.

If your icon is green, it means your connection is successful. Please see the picture below.

Now comes the moment of truth: clear your Chrome browser cache and reopen ChatGPT. You’ll find it incredibly smooth, without the need to refresh after every question. If this article has helped you, please share it with others, because knowledge knows no bounds.

Note: To use OpenVPN on an Apple mobile device, please download the OpenVPN Connect app from the App Store. Then, open the .ovpn file with OpenVPN Connect. The VPN will be automatically configured, and you will be able to access it from your mobile device.
